Arctic Expedition is an IPA brewed using the Cold Fermentation method. Will probably result in a new Beer Advocate Cold IPA style at some point. For now, itis an AIPA. Poured from a16 oz. can into a pint glass from a16 oz can, this beer features a very slightly hazy gold color and a small, foamy and bubbly white head that fades to a covering of the top of the glass. Patchy lacing. Aroma and taste include some mild tropical fruit and grainy malt. Good level of bitterness. The mouthfeel is the notable part of this beer. It is light and crisp like a lager but with the hoppiness of an AIPA. You could call it "crushable" even at 6.8% .abv. I enjoyed this beer and I would have no problem with a new IPA style if Cold Fermentation for IPAs becomes a "thing".
