Bottle pour into tulip
A nice tart and refreshing saison. The contribution of the peach is fairly subtle and, to be honest, I couldn't really get any black pepper. This would be great on a hot summer day. A nice change from all the stouts that I've been drinking recently. Cheers!

Clear. Subtle foam stocks around. Yellow orange tinge
Peach is strong. Peppercorns.
Tangy peach, peppery, white bread. Yeasty.
Bubbly. Prickly yet smooth.
Great saison.

The eradication of the Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody continues, now embarking on a Flying Dog horizontal which I had intended to commence with the K-9 Winter Warmer a couple of days ago.
From the bottle: "If the marketing minds of Erin and Nate had it any other way, they'd drink peaches everyday [sic]. Their Brewhouse Rarities pitch was based on their well-shared love of saisons and desire to incorporate the distinct sweetness and subtle vanilla character of white peach. Every pitch for our Brewhouse Rarities series - where every voice at Flying Dog is heard - is different. Some are high level, others are highly technical ... and Erin and Nate's involved entrance music."
I Pop!ped the cap and gave it a moderate pour since other reviewers have mentioned a haze, plus such would not be out of place in the style. The finger of bone-white head that was produced was as foamy and fizzy as anything that comes from soda pop and it disappeared so rapidly that I wondered if I had even really seen it . Color was a lightly hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5) with some floaties in evidence. Nose had the light funk of Saison yeast along with a pleasant sweetness which was readily identifiable as peaches. Mouhfeel was medium. The taste was an odd amalgam of its ingredients with the black peppercorn adding a discordant note to the peach and saison flavors. It was an instance where they could have left something out and improved the beer by virtue of its absence. I really liked the peach flavor with the saison, but the pepper brought an unnecessary added spiciness to the picture. Finish was dry, but unsatisfying. Again, I think that it could be a great beer, but snas the pepper.

A: Pours a yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fairly quickly fizzles down to an almost non-existent cap
S: Light acetic tartness along with some peach and black peppercorn spiciness. General fruity undertone
T: Starts off with the light acetic tartness and the peaches. General fruitiness takes over as the acetic notes fade, along with a hint of the black peppercorns. Finishes with vague peach and wheat
M: Light-medium body with spritzy carbonation
O: Almost seems more like a peach berliner than a saison. Drinks more like one too, aside from the generally higher abv. Kind of a take-it-or-leave-it brew
