On tap at the brewery in Frederick.
Strong porter, barrel aged with real cherries. A holiday release.
Pours a dark ruby, medium-bodied, with a small white head.
Smells like a barrel aged porter with a little bit of a robitussin kick: bitter barley, very light whiskey burn, and then cherries. The cherries are muted and have a pleasant feel of artificiality to them.
Tastes like it smells: straightforward, and not too rich. A nicely quaffable brew and served me right on a cool autumn evening, but the thinness of the body left just a bit to be desired. Pretty good overall, though.
