Alpha Initiative is a playground for our brewers to explore, create, and analyze all things IPA. In this Brut IPA, a special enzyme breaks down complex sugars that wouldn't otherwise ferment, creating a bone dry and highly carbonated IPA. With no residual sugar in the way, the subtleties of the hops really shine through.

Had on tap at the brewery. A good IPA but it doesn't have much Brut characteristics. Was very hazy in appearance and not dry at all. No champaigne like qualities. So for style authenticity it misses the mark but it's still a good quality beer to drink.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly clear light golden pour with massive fluffy white head. Solid retention... less lacing than I'd expect.
S: Dry and grainy... lemony citrus hops.
T/F: Lightly toasted malts... some sweetness up front and then giving way to lemon forward citrus hop flavor. Some floral/herbal notes... dry mid swig to finish. Light... well carbonated.
O: An easy to drink IPA... decent flavor but nothing special. I guess 'Brut IPA's' are the new thing and everyone's got to have one. I'd drink it again. Not one to seek out.
