Drinking this well over best by date (by a month) still it is a very tasty and hazy IPA maybe because it's more of a pale ale than an IPA. Still I wouldn't drink it again compared to Flying dog labels this one is pretty forgettable that is probably why it sat in my fridge for almost two months.

Welcome back to Happy New This Year & Beer Are Flying Outta Here On Sunday, Dog (Week 723)! I am so glad that you could join me for this madness.
From the Bottle: "If it's hazy, does that mean it's unfiltered? (Most likely.) And what does New England have to do with it? (Not necessarily anything.) With a commitment to higher beer education, Flying Dog University is breaking down the trend of unfiltered IPAs right into your glass. As hops have more interaction with the yeast, which would normally be removed before filtration, you get aroma and flavor profiles that are different from your average filtered IPA."; "Crack one open and get your learn on."
I could see a LOT of flocculate on the kick when I initially chose this as a part of today's festivities so I did some in-bottle agitation in advance of the day. It worked, but only briefly as there is quite a bit sitting there now. I Pop!ped the cap & began an intensely slow, gentle C-Line pour so as to leave as much of the lees in the bottle as I could. I had pretty good success as I got just over a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention from my efforts, plus it left nice lacing in its wake. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose smelled like an old school AIPA with its heavy grapefruit quality. It was like freshly squeezed juice! Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was not quite as intense as the nose had led me to expect, but it was still quite flavorful, especially of grapefruit. It had a softness to it, as though the edges had been taken off of it. I would have liked it better with the same bitter intensity that it evinced on the nose. Finish was dry, mostly bitter, but I just felt like it could have been better. YMMV.

Very nice unfiltered beer. Good taste from hops and more. The idea of leaving beer unfiltered is my preference, Flying Dog label informs about hops interactions with the yeast.
