Not bad at all, as I have come to expect from them. They do like to play with a lot of flavors and some don’t work as well as others. Flying Dog reminds me a lot of Philly’s own Evil Genius that way. I don’t often pick up on anything artificial in these brews and this is exactly as described; mint chocolate stout.

 

Just a hair over medium body. Carbonation was about medium and seemed too much for the style
Aroma is dark roasted black coffee, espresso beans, roasted malt. Could barely pick up any mint
Taste is roasted malt, espresso beans, black coffee, and just a feint amount of mint.
Overall the carbonation was too much and there wasn't too much mint. That being said it was an excellent stout and would buy it again .

 

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is, as someone else stated, like thin mint cookies. Taste is the same as the aroma, with the mintiness being a little more pronounced. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

 

 

 

 

Pours a dark chocolate brown color with a beige head that was almost two fingers tall. The nose has mint blended with an astringent roasted quality. There is a hint of mint in the flavor profile along with a mild roast. The body is thin for the style.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Best by April 2020. Plenty fresh

Looks great in the glass. Black body, decent thick light tan head leaving very good lacing at first, persisting in some form throughout.

Smells amazing, mint and dark chocolate.

On tasting. The mint and dark chocolate come through very nicely. The roasted malt is between medium and strong. For this palate, the roast is a bit too strong. Others may appreciate that it cuts the sweet.

Mouth between medium and full, finish roasted chocolate mint.

Overall, while an enjoyable drink, mint chocolate flavors move the beer into pastry stout territory, and the level of roastiness spoils that a little. At least for me. Others may find the balance pleasing.

 

Enjoy by 4/14/20. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a big khaki head that falls leaving great thick retention and sticky frothy lacing. The aromas are subtle. Lots of malts. Mild hints of mint and chocolate. The aromas really open up as it warms a bit. The flavors are bolder than the nose. The mint really comes through in the flavor department. The chocolate comes through as well. Nice blend of dark chocolate, milk chocolate and chocolate syrup. Moderate to low sweetness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, slightly sharp, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a pretty solid stout. The mint comes through, especially with the flavors. They deliver what you would expect from a mint chocolate stout. Not bad at all. I like it.

Pours a pitch black with a dark tan foam head. After settling down a bit, a rich and dark malty complexion comes across the nose: dark chocolate foremost, but then subtle mint and roasted notes also come through. Honestly smells quite a bit like chocolate + mint combos from a chocolate shop -- so a good first impression! Taste follows suite with dark chocolate being the dominate flavor and mint coming along as a nice complement. Feel not quite as heavy as expected, a bit wispy/silky, and it leaves a great mint dark chocolate aftertaste. Definitely something to pickup and try!

 

 

Appearance:
Midnight black with a dark khaki head and sugary lacing. Very handsome.

Bouquet:
Remember the enticing scent of opening up a brand new box of Thin Mint girl scout cookies? The aroma is a veritable doppelganger: Sweetened mint leaves, melted dark chocolate, and confectionery sugar. Afternotes of toasty malts and coffee.

Taste:
A nostalgic treat transmogrified into beer: Bitter-sweet baker's chocolate, bracing mint, and roasted coffee wrapped in a soft blanket of malts. The mint presides over all. While cold, tangy mint and sharp chocolate can come across as a acidic. For this reason, I recommend you give it time to breathe. As it warms, Mint Condition sheds its acerbic facade and the true character of this beer comes forward: Smoothness replaces harshness, chocolate gains strength over the mint without nullifying it, and the subtle sweetness of this English milk stout prevails at last.

Be advised: this is a fickle beer. Don't let it air for too long, it must be chilled for the mint to remain enjoyable. If it gets too warm you'll lose some flavor.

Feel:
Oh so smooth! A satin concoction of medium body and moderate carbonation. Only the mint and malts linger after it slides down.

Overall:
A beer that delivers precisely what the packaging promises: all the flavor of a mint chocolate chip milkshake with none of the heft.
