On tap at the Flying Dog brewery in Frederick. It appears this is a limited offer that they are testing out. Quite good though.
Color was orange-brown with a very thin, quickly-dissipating head. Smelled of ginger, cardamom, and orange/grapefruit. One would expect this beer to be very acidic, but it is actually quite soft and smooth. Calcic and a bit sweet.
The beer drank well from front (light spices, medium malts, and some moderate sweetness) to back (more crisp, moderate ABV, light, but spicy body). A bit of that smoky flavor contributes to complexity, but the beer is mostly light to light-medium in body and quite pale and sharp. Refreshing and moderately drinkable.
Notable ginger beer, but not as well-rounded as some of their other offerings.
