12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass. Enjoy by 10/13/21, so really not that bad.
L---Medium reddish brown color. Mostly clear. Fluffy, khaki head had good retention and left nice lacing.
S---Malty. Caramel & bread.
T---Caramel and maybe very light dark chocolate.
F---Medium bodied. Almost a bit airy from carbonation.
O---Tasty and full flavored.

On the back label there is a note of "FOR OPTIMAL FRESHNESS ENJOY BY" followed by the printed: "10.13.21"
Appearance: The body is a beautiful brown sun-tea color with hints of burnt umber and dull orange. The beer has good clarity. The head is a slightly off-white color with a creamy textured head that is large in stature an has wisps of lacing that creep up the glass.
Aroma: It has mellow notes of tea leaves and caramel. There is a faint hint of white pepper and just a light dusting of mint on the nose. It is a very enjoyable smelling beer.
Taste: Toffee comes through at first with a light bit of bubblegum which seems a bit odd. Towards the middle of the palate the flavor tapers off sharply and a spike of alcohol character comes through. There's very little to say about the flavor of the beer because there isn't much of it.
Mouthfeel: It feels a bit watery and on the lower end of medium. Inconsistent bitterness and texture.
Overall: it's a really strange beer because it looks fantastic and it smells great, but when it comes down to drinking it the beer really starts to fall short and lands flat on its face. The label says "YOU'RE ON MUTE" and 'CABIN FEVER RED." There's not much to like about this lackluster beer aside from the appearance and aroma. I am not likely to buy it again and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're curious about how Flying Dog approaches the amber/red style. As a whole it is sub-par and lackluster.

Damn pretty beer. Clear deep amber, almost red body with an average size, off white, lasting head and good lacing. Earthy, caramel malt aroma with a hint of floral hops. Those hops and floral ones are more focused in the taste but the malts still tip the balance. Fine line between between sweet and bitter in the aftertaste. Smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel.

1st Review. A treat. Found at Wegmans Ocean - mix six.
a) Lasting lacing slashing head over perfectly rub, mahagony oil body.
s) Malt, toast.
t) Malt & toast, stone fruit, mango, fresh sawn cedar heart wood.
f) Crisp, creamy, scrubbing.
o) Full on American Red Ale in the direction of classics like Red Tail Ale.
