Cinnamon Pecan Blonde from Flying Dog Snowplowed variety pack. 12 oz bottles purchased from Franklin Beer (12/30/21), Franklin, PA. $ 25.00 (including tax)/12 pack ($0.174/oz). Stored at room temperature in store and at 40 degrees after purchase. Reviewed 4/2/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottle stamped on label “For optimal freshness, enjoy by 03.22.22”. Served at 41.5 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 47.4 degrees.
Appearance – 3.5.
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear. When rear-lite, straw (SRM 3) with virtually no effervescence.
Head – Average (Maximum 1.8 cm, aggressive center pour), white, fair retention, diminishing to a four to seven mm crown and a complete cap.
Lacing – Poor, just a few drag marks.
Aroma – 3 – Incredibly weak cinnamon – really have to horn it to detect any. Hops predominate followed by pecans and malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 3 – Light cinnamon on the taste buds, generic hoppiness, no malt, no yeast. Pecans are less obvious on the taste buds than on the olfactory sense. No ethanol (7.1 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. Weak gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3 – Thin, slightly oily, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 Crisp but not much flavor or aroma.

A - So far so good clear bright yellow in color with a delicious 1/4 inch of foam with decent lacing.
S - Not much in the nose maybe a twinge of cinnamon spice and some vanilla? Sipping...
T - MUCH better than I expected vanilla smooth body, cinnamon spice aggressive but not too overbearing, and a slight nutty taste reminiscent of walnuts.
M - Very smooth body easy to crush best beer!
Overall I knew one of these had to be a banger but I really enjoyed the apricot sour as well. Good work guys!
