Enjoy by 3/27/22. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip.
Pours a dark brown; small off-white head that fades leaving okay retention and lacing.
The aromas have a nice blend of citrus and tropical fruits. Hints of cocoa, but it smells like a regular IPA/NE IPA if you smelled it blindly.
The flavors basically follow the nose. Some grapefruit and pineapple leading the way. It does have some hazy/NE IPA flavors going on. More hints of cocoa along with some dark chocolate in the mix. It's slightly robust. Solid hop flavors. Moderate bitterness. Subtle sweetness. Malts do their thing. Finishes juicy. Alcohol goes unnoticed.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy and smooth.
This is a pretty solid Black IPA. I always liked the style but it has been awhile since I've had one, so this one was nice to come across. Making it a "Hazy Black IPA" was a nice touch and really works. I like it.
