Had on tap at In De Wildeman in Amsterdam.
Big creamy rich head fades semi slowly with tons of lacing, semi hazy golden honey yellow orange color.
Nose is exactly what I wanted, nice farmhouse funk, floral and effervescent, light citrusy tropical fruit hops with light fruity aromas. Belgian yeast brings faint esters.
Taste brings more of the fruity characters. Light farmhouse funk but more Belgian yeast esters and apple like fruits, phenols get in the way a bit as well. The hops bring light citrus and fruity flavors with mild to med bitterness but pale in comparison to the nose. Faint grassy hop profile as well. Finish is semi sweet still, lingering fruity hops fair bitterness, light saison straw and just a touch of farmhouse funk, fruity still.
Mouth is med bodied, decent carb.

Pleasant cask at Mr. Goodbar. Smooth mouthfeel, smooth IPA bolstered by farmhouse funky yeast. Very fresh smelling, the yeast. Good level of bitterness. Bit of spice and lemon tart finish. Nice drinkability. Unique and Worth a try. Little head and no lace consistent with most

I was fortunate enough to try this beer at its debut at Cafe In de Wildeman in Amsterdam late last year. Some of the Flying Dog execs were at In de Wildeman for the debut and they were giving out free glasses of this farmhouse IPA to everone in the bar (it is not that big of a place, but the bartenders were letting the glasses go)!! I enjoyed a couple glasses then and also had a few more glasses on a later trip to In de Wildeman earlier this year.
A: Nice yellow clear straw color with a nice foamy white head. Really don't want to comment on lacing, but if you are into that nonsense, there is nice lacing left behind...
S/T: Smells fresh with a bit of farmy/barny funk---really nice! lol! A nice bitter and very clean, fresh taste and smell.
M: Smooth with a bubbly texture.
O: Very, very nice Farmhouse IPA. Frothy, foamy, tasty. Nothing at all bad to say about this really nice, and unfortunatly limited example.

First had: on tap at TJ's, Paoli, PA
Poured a slightly hazy straw-copper color. White foam gushed out of the tap, making about 5 minutes of settling time necessary to get a full pour on this one. (I'm really starting to believe that TJ's has a serious problem with their tap lines.) Aroma of bready malts, citrusy hops, a bit of barnyard grassiness. More of the same in the taste, bready, yeast, citrus, earth, crisp and grassy. Light-medium body, and pretty nice overall.

First thing you notice is the beautiful orange-golden (leaning more towards the golden) hazy color. Very warm and inviting. it is not filtered, and looks this way. The head is generous, somewhat golden, but lite and leaves a nice lace.
The smell is both hoppy and funky. The hops spoke to me first, followed by the yeasty funkiness associated with a Saison. Very sweet smelling citrus elements as well. A very nice movement from hoppy to funky to sweet.
Personally, this is one of the better tasting beers I have tried in a long time. The hoppiness is not over or underplayed against the Saison. I feel that did a wonderful job at balancing the two against each other and you can almost taste each different style at different points throughout the swallow. The feel is on the crisp side. A lingering finish that is dry. Great flavor!
Overall, a really great job by a brewery that has surprised me since moving to the Maryland-DC area. Actually me writing this review has me salivating for one!

Flying Dog In De Wildeman Farmhouse IPA tastes like a saison to me. There is lots of spice and hardly any hops. It's a pretty nice saison though.
A: Yellow colour and a 2 cm head that lasts very well. 4.5
S: Peppery and a little funky. The hops aren't so noticeable. 4
T: Malty with lots of spice. The finish is very peppery. There isn't much IPA character at all. 3.5
M: Foamy. 4
O: 4
