750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Deep reddish amber body. Probably more brown than amber. Nice khaki head. Thick collar.
Smell - Vanilla, deep red wine, caramel. Oak. Incredible barrel aroma.
Taste - Lots of caramel up front. Wine flavors incorporate well. The oak, vanilla, and other barrel flavors are more muted, but very nice.
Mouthfeel - A little over carbonated. Medium sweetness. Not too heavy or boozy.
Overall - Imagine my surprise when a Flying Dog beer is the best of the night. Really tasty.
