On tap at the brewery, served very cold in a snifter.
Look: Black, with a small tan head that lingered a little while and left just a very little finely-bubbled lacing.
Nose: Very little — just a bit of dark roast and a hint of brown sugar.
Attack: Developed nicely as the beer warmed: bourbon, dark roast, oak, and again a hint of brown sugar.
Finish: Nothing really different from the attack, a hint of more bitterness in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium, adequate carbonation.
Overall: The attack was the best part of this beer — the attack was quite good. Would be happy to order it again.
