Sierra de la Laguna Brewery

I visited Sierra de la Laguna while my wife and I were in San José last weekend. I thought the spot itself was great — a neat old brick building with a dim but cozy and welcoming interior, with the small brewhouse right there in the taproom. The bar seats maybe 5 people, but there are a number of group tables inside and a few 2-tops out on the sidewalk. The bartender was very nice and helpful, and I just had a good overall feeling about the place.

They’re relatively new (not to mention small), so they only had 5 of their own beers on tap, plus a seltzer and a few guest taps. Their beers included a witbier, a stout, a lager, an IPA, and a pale ale — a pretty standard selection. The beers I had were pretty decent, particularly the witbier. If I ever make it back to Cabo, I’d love to come back here.
