Pours an opaque, hazy yellow from the bottle, big foamy 1” head with excellent retention and lacing. Nose is banana, clove, light sweet yeast esters, but tanning oil, macadamia nuts, white chocolate, fresh cut grass; hop aromas are light, but nose is altogether inviting. Taste is surprising bitter off the bat - not at all overly bitter, but given the nose, was expecting something yeastier; instead, this has mild grassiness and dry cracker, something akin to a really dry and mild saison; light doughiness as well that makes it really refreshing. Feel is on the thin side, crisp and clean; again, an exceedingly refreshing beer.
This was an exciting pickup brewed specially in conjunction with La Louve Coop in Paris (they are a sister coop with our coop here in the US, which enabled us to shop there). Of all of the beers I sampled during the trip, this actually may be the best one.
