At Uwharrie Brewing, we focus on blending traditional brewing methods with modern equipment and high-quality ingredients. We source our ingredients from the regions that inspire the styles we brew and pair them with the City of Albemarle's award-winning fresh water to create beers we're proud to share.

Colton Baker, our Owner and Head Brewer, brings over a decade of expertise to the craft brewing industry. His journey began during his college years at the University of Mississippi, where he combined his passion for brewing as a homebrewer and beertender while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business.

Colton’s professional brewing career started in Brevard, where he played a pivotal role in launching a small craft brewery and establishing its brewing and taproom operations. He later advanced his career in Waynesville, starting as a second-shift brewer and eventually rising to Head Brewer and Production Manager for a multi-million-dollar brewing operation.

In 2021, Colton achieved his dream of opening his own brewery when the City of Albemarle entrusted him with the Historic Station 1 Firehouse through an incentive agreement.
