Yenekamu Brewing Co.

I checked out Yenekamu last weekend when my wife and I were vacationing in Cabo. It’s in a warehouse outside of the main central area of Cabo San Lucas, and has a definite industrial feel with concrete floors, high metal ceilings, and the entire brewing operation shares the space with the taproom. They had just opened when we were there, so it was not busy at all, but it had a vibe where I expect it’s a bit of a party place later in the evenings. The service was friendly and helpful — of course, we were the only people there so we had all their attention. The staff only spoke Spanish with me, but that didn’t hinder the beer ordering process one bit!

They had 11 of their beers on tap, about half-and-half flagships and one-offs. Styles included Mexican lager, about four IPAs of various substyles, blonde, stout, gose, a couple pale ales, and a New Zealand lager. They also had seltzer and mead — you don’t see that everyday! I’d say of the 3 breweries I visited in the Cabo San Lucas / San José area, Yenekamu was my favorite, and if I ever come back to Cabo it’ll be top of the list to revisit.
