Rubis stout
L- The most magnificent deep chestnut brown, clear, 5mm pale tan foam cap.
S- Cocoa, as in milky chocolate.
T- Well, big chocolate front and centre, there is also a minor barrel note to it. I don't seem to detect a wine note here (tempranillo), perhaps it's subtle enough to slip into the mix. There is a toasty edge, presumably from the base stout beer used. There is also a minor dry note in the finish.
F- It is notably light on the palate, no sense of ABV to me and it feels under-powered.
O- First off, this is one of the most elegantly labelled beers I have ever encountered, suggesting a bottled treasure of some kind. I like how the wine note is subtle and the focus is on lovely milky chocolate. But it seems to come off as lacking body, or say a punchy Stout character to balance the cocoa. I wonder whether if they had a special edition aiming for say an 8% version I'd indeed be finding the suggested treasure.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
