Light yellow. Thin head made from medium sized bubbles.
Aroma of stewed hops typical of many English blond beers.
Some sweetness and hardly any bitter. Well cooked hops again.
Healthy carbonation.
Not up to much.

A: A bruised golden colour, no carbonation, 3 fingers of off white head that fades fast.
S: Malt, skunk, a little fruitiness.
T: Fruitiness, light like pears, floral quality as well.
M: Light body, little carbonation, crisp and refreshing.

A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of July 2014. Picked up a while back from a supermarket. Amber by name, amber by nature - the label claims that this is light and refreshing.
Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear orange-amber colour with plentiful carbonation. Forms a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before settling as a thick surface layer. Aroma of light, grainy malt, faint ale yeast and a twinge of stewed leaves. Very bland - hardly anything there.
Tastes of light caramel malt with a dry finish. Notes of faint malt, subtle ale yeast and mild stewed leaves. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a pretty insubstantial body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of delicate yeast and stewed leaves.
I'll damn it with faint praise and admit that there's nothing technically wrong with it; it's just incredibly dull. Looks OK though very fizzy. The aroma is all but non-existant, while the flavour is a shade more substantial. Light, watery body. Goes down easily enough, partly due to lack of substance. Unless you're looking for a palate cleanser, give it a miss.

Clear 500ml bottle, shared with my wife on 6th Sep 2013: the bottle being split between two old 'Home Ales' half-pint Countryman Tankards.
The beer is more orange than amber in colour, a white head covers but leaves early.
Fizzy and bland were the words my good lady and I came up with. It was refreshing, but lacked true flavour or character. Boring is another word we could have used.
The aroma was a weak blend of sweet citrus notes and light malts.
The taste didn't fair much better, metallic feel to the whole thing with caramel side effects. Not nasty, but not good, sugar soaked grains in an alcohol soup sort of brew: just didn't sit right at all.

Well it's called Amber and (although a little pale) it is amber with a resplendent full cm white head of unfortunately too many big bubbles to last completely but still be giving a token presence at the end.
There is the Stewed hop aroma (though with today's heat it is welcome) & golden syrup notes that actually do whet the appetite
The taste,now here is a common problem, mineral water
it takes over this brew what with the hop taste being virtually minimal
it is like drinking a Shandy made from McEwan's light & Perrier
It is very easy to drink if not as pleasant at least it is thirst quenching
on the plus side it isn't overly fizzy
it is a very hot day which is probably making me think that this is an okay beer
