Marie Lyst is a mild and pleasant fresh golden ale with almost no hops and therefore no bitterness, but just a soft and aromatic beer for lunch, with a faint elderflower scent from the Cascade hops. Perfect for hot days, freshly peeled prawns or just in good company.

Copenhagen 14/8 2021. 33 cl bottle from Falster Bryghus at a Farmers Marked in Bøtø. Drawing of grumpy looking girl in a summer dress on the label.
Pours unclear, golden yellow with a small white head. Settles as a thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet, fruity odor mingling with a light tart sour scent. Sweet pale malts, lemonade with hints of oranges. Light whiff of cooked vegetables.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and gets a bit cloying as the beer warms up. Lingers for awhile. Finish is semi-dry.
A Summer brew where the wheat malts certainly makes a presence. A tad too sweet for my taste buds.
