A soft and full-bodied Brown Belgian Ale, with classic caramel malts, reminiscent of the beautiful Belgian monastery brew, with power and juice for dark meat and game. Definitely a must for those who love good Belgian ale. Or Belgians who love a good Castle Brewery in Denmark.

Marielyst 30/7 2021. 33 cl bottle from Falster Bryghus at Farmers Marked in Bøtø. Drawing of Nykøbing Slot in it’s heyday on the label.
Pours opaque murky, brown with a small, bubbly off-white head. Disappears after a few seconds leaving a muddy substance behind. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a scent of hard candy. Caramel, toffee, brown sugar. Lightly roasted malts. Rye bread.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Very malty and sweet ale with a moderate redeeming bitterness. Fine if you like your caramel.
