FEBRUARY 2025.
Drank on tap at the brewery and brought bottles home at the end of the holiday.
It is a mountain brewery, very close to places where you can ski (50 minutes from San Martino di Castrozza) in the Dolomites.
75 cl bottle (€4 at the brewery), taken out of the fridge and left to rest for 2 minutes... serving temperature: 7 °C.
On the label: "Lot: 4324 - Best before: 12/2025".
Beautiful golden color, very clean and almost completely transparent, with a nice foam hat (compact to the eye, but soft to the drink) that remains to act as a hat to the beer.
Beautiful fragrant taste characterized by extreme minerality and lightness of the water (as immediately noticeable, especially in their low fermentations, but not only), just the right carbonation (medium).
The fresh and lively taste of cereals and bread crust, on the finish a herbaceous note (just like meadow grass) that makes the beer end with a pleasant light bitterness that cleans it and, always thanks to the sensitive purity of the water invites you to an immediate and full subsequent sip.
Crunchy, but in a fast way without invading the palate or remaining with a long aftertaste.
Light aftertaste of breadcrumbs on the palate, but all very fresh and thirst-quenching.
Clean and very pleasant to drink, the lightness of the water is the second most recognizable characteristic and also found in the other references. But in Helles, you can really feel the extreme smoothness of the water.
