Hand-delivered to Moscow (thanks, Luda!) from the region, this is an unpasteurized "live" beer that comes in a standard brown half liter bottle with a green and gold label featuring a red triangle in the middle encircled by the name. Ingredients include sugar. Bottled on 2/21/05, I opened it on 3/1/05.

Pours a clear gold under a one finger white head that fades quickly but leaves a bit of lace. The nose is sweet and sour, with too much bad watermelon in the malt. The mouth is very prickly and quite light. Interesting, seemingly unfinished taste, full of fairly smooth dry bitter hops (the name translates roughly as "hoppy"). A bit of sweet malt exists for balance, but the overall impression is loser to a currant-like bitter. The aftertaste has an espresso-like dryness to it. Interesting brew, and a pleasant surprise.
