Standard brown half-liter bottle with a fairly nice brown and white label featuring what looks like an old city wall presumably in Magadan. Sugar is listed as an ingredient. I got this from a colleague who was in Magadan, on the Pacific coast of Russia, in July. An unpasteurized brew, it expired some ten days after it was bottled. That was two months ago. Under the circumstances, it held up quite well (as opposed to its amber brother).

Poured a cloudy pale yellow under a small, bubbly white head that dissipated very quickly, leaving no lace or collar. The nose was mild and malty. The mouth was flat, a bit sour, and light-bodied. The taste is malty with a touch of sour - probably headed quickly toward turning bad. I could detect no hops whatsoever. The aftertaste was just a touch sour, but the beer was still good enough to drink.
