Had no expectations when I ordered this, and it was the first time seeing it on a menu. I’m familiar with the Hitachino White Ale but this “classic” was a nice surprise.

330 ml bottle, brought from Japan by my son Steinar. The label has silver and white writing on a dark blue background. Matured in cedar casks. ABV is 6.5%. Murky brown colour, large off-white head. Fruity aroma (plums and fruity hops, orange marmalade), also notes of cedar wood. Woody flavour, medium sweet, fruity notes, moderately bitter finish.
