My wife and mother-in-law brought this (along with two others) home for me as an early Christmas gift when they were down that way shopping.
From a dark brown, screwtop JBC growler into a pint glass. This was filled to the lip, which was a courteous way to keep it as carbonated as possible.
On their website, JBC says this is an unfiltered pale lae akin to SNPA which makes me wonder why this is listed as an IPA. Anyway...
Pours a bright, brown amber with a slight haze, though its still fairly clear. A decent couple fingers of fluffy, off-white head caps the beer and falls to a constant foam, but not a lot of lacing.
Smell is quite hoppy, mostly in the form of a sharp piney-ness and a hint of citrus, plus a little caramel sweetness.
Taste is hoppy as well, while this doesn't seem to have the alcohol presence of an IPA the hop presence is huge, the hop bitterness really dominates this beer. The hops are quite ramped up, this is definitely a hoppier trending beer that SNPA, its quite tasty.
Mouthfeel is bitter, crisp and drying and a tad thin, but a solid beer.
Drinkability is good, this growler would make for a nice session and I think I'll turn it into one.

Fresh from the brewery via growler through my cousin's bf, appears a nice copper golden amber hue with fizzy off white head leaves speckled lacing around the pint glass, nice but the head dwindles kinda quickly. Aroma contains citrus peels and some pine tones along with a caramel malt sweetness coming through doesn't seem overly hoppy. Flavor brings a good amount of piney and citrus malt character balanced with lush caramel malts very nice thanks to Barret Goddard. Mouthfeel is medium bodied seems a bit thick for an IPA but it has some even carbonation with slightly oily texture. Drinkability very easily could go through a few pints any time, good stuff.

Fresh from the growler.
Appearence: Pours a golden amber with a rock off-white head. Leaves very nice lacing. No signs of carbonation anywhere.
Smell: A nice, floral aroma comes pouring out, with a suprising amount of malts rounding it off. Lemon peels and fruits come to mine.
Taste and Mouthfeel: Less hoppy then the smell would lead you to believe it would taste, and that's actually a good thing. This is a unique IPA with a nice bit malts that taste different that most IPA malts do. The finish is nice and dry, with hops taking over. Feels good and frim in the mouth, almost a little too chewy for an IPA.
Drinkability and Overall: This is a very nice offering from a local brewery. Haven't had a chance to get down to the resturant though, my girlfriend brought this one up for me. This is a very good beer which I could drink plenty more of. Enjoy.
