On tap at the brewpub.
Pours a very dark brown (almost a black) with some slight ruby highlights coming out around the edges. It also poured a thin tan head that retained rather well and left some nice sticky lacing on the glass. The aroma is a bit subdued but contained mostly notes of burnt roasted malt, sweetness, and even some hop citrus.
The taste is thick with the rich feel of dark roasted malts, chocolate sweetness, and finishes with a combo of burnt and hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is thick and creamy with a nice full bodied feel to it.
This was how I like my Double Stouts. Thick and chewy with deep flavors and a nice beefy body. And it was surprisingly easy drinking for nearly 8% ABV. Nice.
