this was totally infected when i had it, sour unintentionally, worse than bad homebrew to me, and i hate to be harsh on a new business, but whoever made this had absolutely no business serving it, this is not a flatting infection, something subtle or that could be snuck by a casual drinker, this is outwardly acidic and undrinkable, woefully amateur, and should have ended up down a drain rather than in a keg, a shame for all the people who had it as their first impression of this brewery, as i did. i get wanting to maximize dollars for a new business, but the quality line cannot be compromised this much or you arent going to last long, straight up. thinner mid brown pour, not super roasty and dark looking, fine for warmer summer weather, average off white head from the tap fading quick. the nose on this is sharp, red wine vinegar lactic pucker totally clashing with some milk chocolate and coffee richness from the grain, some roast in there but not way robust or anything, on the edge of brown ale range, but this isnt about nuance as its totally infected and something i dont even want to taste but do out of respect. the flavor is worse, real sharp start to finish, i cant believe someone would serve this, just cut your losses, how big can their system be anyway? few hundred bucks is worth a lot less than your reputation, i dont know. disappointing. shows promise on the recipe construction side, but im looking for a positive here, this is a mess and a shame. i know my next one from these guys will be better, and i wish them luck between now and then!

Taster at Saint Agony. Dark tan pour, a few bubbles. Aroma is caramel, sweet. Taste follows with more sweet caramel, like a candy bar. I think the intention was for it to be a porter, but there wasn't a hint of roast malts at all.
