Fairly clear for a hefe, light head, leaves some nice lace.

Aroma is very citrusy with hints of clove. Taste is similar, with some bubblegum (no banana). Light to moderate body with a crisp finish. A very easy drinker. Overall a decent brew.

A really nice summer brew.

The wheat is an almost clear yellow with virtually no head the way it was poured. Aromas of banana and spice are quite clear but more in a "I'm holding a banana with a clove stuck in it right under my nose" kind of way. It has a very distinct clove and spice taste with just a hint of wheat in the background. A sharp carbonated finish.

If you're in the mood for a wheat beer that doesn't taste like a Hefeweizen than this one works.

This beer doesn't really seem like a true Hefe, but here we go anyway. The beer was a semi-cloudy yellow with just a thin cap of white head that had no retention or lacing. And the damn thing was served with a freaking lemon slice, so that cost the beer a half-point.

The aroma was a very subdued version of the style, just hints of yeast and clove and no banana. There was just a bit of banana on the tastebuds, otherwise flavor and aroma matched closely.

The body was typical for the style, perhaps a touch thinner than average. And drinkability was good, but with such a boring beer, why have multiples?

A lot of the breweries business is from tourists who are once and done, so maybe the brewers are aiming at a lower flavor target. If you're looking at tulips or browsing the shoppes, this beer won't kill ya, but it also won't thrill ya.

La Conner calls this a hefeweizen on their menu, but it's really an American wheat beer. It's just barely hazed - not clouded in the least as you'd expect from a hefe. It is golden yellow with a distressing lack of lather and a bland, doughy aroma and taste. It is un-crisp, un-dry, and uninspired with a generalized indistinct character. And then there's that useless lemon wedge that always ends up pressed into my water glass. Pass.

In past I really didn't like the Wit but this is a good wheat beer in the Hefe style that delivers the goods. Lots of crisp citrus notes on the nose and the finish with some banana coming through as the beer warms up. The head was fine was a tight foam on arrival. Not their best beer but certainly better than the Wit.

Had this on tap at the LaConnor pub. Specifically requested this without a lemon. Came with a lemon. "That's the way we server it", said the waitress. Whatever! Absolutely no head. Nice cloudy yellow color in the appropriate type glass. At least this one wasn't frosted (see my review of the IPA). Completely flat on the palate, but with a decent taste for the style. I didn't finish it.

Appearance – Light, cloudy yellow body with the typical monster head that went down slowly and laced the glass.

Smell – Big wheat aroma complimented with lemon. The traditionally light fruit and banana scents are all present as well.

Taste – The wheat flavor got lost in the overpowering lemon tartness. A white pepper spice arrived late in the game as well.

Mouthfeel – Heavily carbonated in accordance with the style. The tartness of this one puckered the lips.

Drinkability – This was better than most American attempts at weitzen that I’ve tried, but it didn’t deliver on the nose.
