This is the first time I’ve seen the name of a hop at La Conner Brewing, so I was hoping for something new and improved. Really cloudy light amber brew with a modest bit of foam in the pint shaker. Some citrus notes in the beery aroma. Quite lively on the tongue.
Then with the first sip I’m goggle-eyed with the bitterness. There is a little malty sweetness lingering on the lips as I’m gasping for a gulp of my wife’s cider. I don’t think it’s possible to get this kind of herbal bitterness from Citra, but maybe they boiled it for a couple of hours or dipped a few cones in the wort while they hopped with their usual green tea harsh hops. On tap at the brewery restaurant.
