got to try this one on tap at the brewery visited as part of whirlwind brewery tour in the hudson valley area

pours out into glass with minimal head pure white looks almost like a porter to me

smelled of some pine hops and other than that clean as a whistle not really much ale esters here more like a lager

tastes too real abundant hop flavor and some sharp black malts but not anything beneath that like a real razor blade to the tongue here i like a good stout or american black ipa but this one not doing it for me

decent mouthfeel but nothing like the mothers milk stout i had

overall decent beer but as far as dark beers from them i would say the mothers milk a lot more balanced and better beer

Thanks to Eric for letting me know they were cracking the only keg of this at the brewery today. Hope this was test to see about putting it on the rotation.

Pours the expected black, but with a thickness that is pure hops, mountain ranges of lace slather the pint glass. You know from the look this is hop heaven.

Smell reinforces the look. Full of bitter citrus and light pine, underlaid with copious roasty malt notes, even some lighter pale malt tones, and a dark caramel sweet that is barely there, but balances well.

The taste is a full flavor, to say the least. It starts with a rush of the bitter citrus, quickly hits stride with roasty almost burnt malt, some bitter chocolate, and glides into a finish that is semi-dry, and gushing with pine and sweetly bitter citrus. Very delicious.

Mouthfeel is less viscous than the look predicts, but full of cling that is clean and lasting. Low/med. carb. and clean finish, just right.

Drinkability is wonderful. It's refreshing, interesting, full of the dank possibilities roasty tones and uberhopping can bring to an IPA.

Impression: If you're reading this, please put this into the rotation asap Tommy Keegan. Beer lovers deserve to enjoy this.
