Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a deep golden amber color with a small head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is a nice mix of wheat and blueberry with notes of caramel and bread crust. Along with these smells comes a touch of yeast and salt and a little bit of a berry candy like smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a mix of cracker malt and wheat paired with a moderate showing of a blueberry fruit and candied blueberry like flavor. There are notes of hay and some light herb, which add a light backdrop to the taste. As the taste advances the sweetness fades a touch, all while the blueberry and wheat get slightly more intense, leaving one with a rather pleasant and easy going blueberry taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness with a carbonation level that is average. Overall, for the fruit nature and the moderate abv., but somewhat rich flavors the middle of the ground feel is rather nice, having enough body for the flavors, but still being light enough for the style.
Overall – A rather pleasant, slightly sweeter, but balanced blueberry beer. Nice for the summer months.
