A Christmas brew should be potent enough to keep up with the Christmas menu, whether it's duck, goose, roast pork or the traditional Danish lunch table. And this robustness is what Holbæk Bryghus Julebryg, which was first brewed in 2005, has.
Our Christmas brew smells and tastes of coziness and celebration. It is brewed generously with a combination of several malts, hops and water. In addition, orange and licorice are added. A full-bodied beer with a slight sweetness that tastes of much more!

Copenhagen 11/1 2019. 50 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen, Nykøbing, Sj. Blue version of Holbæk Brewerys usual design.
Pours very dark brown with big off-white head. Settles as thin layer unable to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the side of the glass. Substantial lacing. ¨
Aroma is sweet and spicy. Brown cookies, licorice and a little cinnamon. Caramel brown sugar.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor has strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a mildly bitter licorice. Fairly short.
Middle of the road take on the Danish Christmas Beer with the unavoidable Christmas Spices. The good news is that they are not overdoing it. But it is not terribly interesting.
