The town lake is located in the center of Holbæk – not far from our brewery in Nygade. The small lake, which dates back to the Middle Ages, is surrounded by a cozy flower and city park and is definitely worth a visit.
Bysø Brown has been adjusted a few times until it got its final form in 2007.
It is a full-bodied ale with lots of flavor from the three different malts. The beer is rounded off with notes of nuts and fruit.

Copenhagen 6/11 2018. 50 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen, Nykøbing Sjælland. Red version of Holbæks usual design.
Pours hazy, dark brown with a red hue. Medium-sized off-whitehead. Settles as very thin layer exactly covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is very sweet. Brown sugar, caramel, nuts, milk chocolate and with hints of nutella. Light sour notes.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery and lively, prickly texture.
Flavor is quite sweet followed by a quite strong acidic sourness. Aftertaste is sourish bitter with a sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a bit.
More sour than bitter - and a bit too sweet for my taste buds.
