Arnakke is located 5 kilometers southeast of Holbæk with a beautiful view of Tempelkrogen – the innermost part of the Isefjord. In the middle of the village of Arnakke grows a large, beautiful hop – hence the name.
First brewed in 2005, the original recipe is still used.
Arnakke Humle is a full-bodied and fruity ale based on the English model with lots of flavor from Pale Ale malt, English bitter hops. We use an English top ferment and season with Saaz hops, which gives the beer a pleasant and dry aftertaste. Suitable for the Danish lunch table, light meat dishes – or simply as a tasty thirst quencher.

Copenhagen 1/11 29018. 590 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen in Nykøbing Sjælland. Holbæk Bryghus' usual design in light blue.
Pours hazy golden yellow with medium-sized white head. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the side of the glass. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is sweet and malty. Caramel, sweet biscuits, lightly roasted malts. Sulfur and soap.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, prickly texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish. And lingers for a bit.
Could use a bit more bitterness for a beer named after a hop.
