Erik is a strong Danish name that has been carried by local and national legends throughout Danish history. Erik Den Røde, Erik Klipping, Erik Ejergod, Erik Ø-bryg and Erik Ehlers.
The latter is our father and father-in-law, who has been a gigantic driving force for the brewery, and still is! We owe him everything and have therefore brewed this tribute, which will thus be no. 10 in the champagne bottle series. A dark and sweet affair at 8% in the Pastry Stout category.
BONUS INFO: The beer is of course brewed with delicious pastries made by Erik from Vindeby Bageri

Copenhagen 3/9 2021. 75 cl bottle from the Brewery in Svendborgsund. White label in the brewery's usual austere style. A little limited in red to indicate that this is a one-off production.
Pours murky, opaque dark brown with a big light beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with sweet malty odor with a touch of brown dry cake, Brown sugar, milk chocolate and plums. The pastry vibe is a bit subdued.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a neat bitter undertone. Lingers for a while.
Reminds me more of a Strong Ale than a Stout. Apart from that the Pastry element is mercifully restrained.
