Copenhagen 15/4 2021. 37,5 cl bottle from Ølkassen web-shop. Hoppe.beer's usual elegant design with tilted writing in two directions and a purple and golden triangle.
Pours murky orange amber with a small off-white head. Disappears almost immediately leaving what looks like brackish water behind. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a potent sugary sweet odor mingling with yeasty notes. Fruity peach and pear. Fermented. Sugar sweetness. Humid wine cellar with a light touch of vinegar.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, slightly greasy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong tart sourness. Aftertaste is tart with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry. Light heartburn.
Nice and fairly intense basis beer for Hoppe.beer's barrel-aged stuff.
