Brett Invictus is a barrel-aged version of Hoppe Beer's "Sol Invictus". The beer has been aged for 24 months in red wine barrels together with brettanomyce.
The beer is fresh and tart, with Brettanomyce providing good acidity and a delicious taste of green apples and a bit of orange from the hops.

Copenhagen 14/5 2021. 37,5 cl bottle from Ølkassen webshop. Hoppe.beer's usual design with letters diagonally in two directions and orange, golden and dark blue triangles. A little barrel to ensure I understand it is a barrel-aged beer.
Pours unclear, golden yellow with a small bubbly white head. Disappears after a few seconds leaving a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a light sweet, fruity, fermented odor mingling with yeasty and sour scents. Sweet oxidized apple and peach. Funky odor of horse blanket and sour cheese. A bit of citrus chiming in.
Strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a strong sourness. Aftertaste is sour like white wine. Lingers for a bit. Finish is vinous and dry.
Dry and acerbic from the barrels of a vindictive Frascati.
