Copenhagen 23/7 2023. 37,5 cl bottle from Craft Makers Collective web-shop. Hoope.Beer's usual design on an off-white label with red and burgundy triangles. A little barrel to signify that we are in BA territory.
Pours opaque, dark brown with big light beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, odor of dark malts mingling with a strong scent of wood and cognac. Dark malts, toasted bread, brown sugar in abundance. Sharp cognac or armagnac.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, greasy, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed and balanced by a boozy bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish and leaden with alcohol. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry and rather boozy.
Imperial Stout with a very pronounced presence of cognac.
