Copenhagen 26/6 2019. 33 cl bottle from Høkeren, Ravnsborggade, Kbh N. Hoppe.beer’s usual design in tourquoise and black. Silhouette of couple dancing Foxtrot.
Pours unclear, golden yellow with small white head. Bubbly. Settles as thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intense, lightly smoky and with a nice sweet boozy burst of woody whiskey. Sweet malts, peat, bourbon, Tobacco, leather and wood.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly prickly texture.
Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a stronger sour bitterness. Aftertaste is boozy, salty and lightly bitter. Lingers for a while.
Modestly smoky and barrel aged. If you like these elements curtly administrered this might be for you. Nice nose but a bit thin in the flavor.
