Crafted annually in small batches, Extra Special Tribute is as distinctive as the story behind it – with each year offering a unique interpretation of our flagship beer.
For 2025, the beer pours a deep gold, almost amber, hinting at the richness within. At 7.4% ABV, it carries a warming character that feels indulgent from the first sip. Sweet notes of caramel and toffee lead the way, followed by a gentle spiciness from British hops and a subtle touch of hedgerow fruit.
Slightly rich with a rounded mouthfeel, this year’s release is already beautifully balanced – but time will add even more depth. As the beer bottle conditions, expect emerging notes of orange and sherry to enhance its complexity.

500ml brown glass bottle. A strong English Pale Ale with heaps of fruit, caramel, resin and alcohol heat. Hops are bright and fresh, bitterness is low and mouthfeel is rich and velvet smooth.

Bottle conditioned. Pours clear amber with hardly any head yet a vibrant effervescence.
An old fashioned hoppy and malty EPA aroma. The English hops in particular are very inviting.
The taste shows it's Tribute heritage. Malty yet balanced. There is a distant sherry like flavour. Both fruity and earthy.
A soft yet lively conditioned feel.
I was surprised how good this was.

L- Rich dark copper, pours clear with rising CO2 but little full foam-cap formation. Just a patch of swirling bubbles on top instead.
S- I've seasonal congestion and wish I could get more scent from it... [my fault].
T- Rich and malty on the front, some hints of fruit here and there, then building powerful dry hops with pops of brief rich/sweetness appearing. The dry hops linger again in the finish.
F- The hops are definitely punchy, part balanced by malty richness. CO2 is good in the mouth.
O- Yesterday I enjoyed a Fuller's Vintage Ale 2025. This is clearly more brightly hopped but still a slow-sipping year-end treat. Out of the two I'd favour the Fuller's; those who favour brighter hops (IPAs etc) might want to try this one first.
Bought from Waitrose, 500ml bottle. BB: 09/2030
