Having this beer on-tap at the brewery, this beer draws a dark brown color with some deep ruby highlights on the edges when the light hits it. Has a tan had that’s about half an inch thick when first drawn and served. Aromas of some toasted, bready, caramel malt sweetness and a good dose of oaked bourbon notes. As a flavor with the aforementioned toasted, bready, caramel malt sweetness along with sweet bourbon and bourbon barrel notes. The woodiness sits on the side and back of my tongue and sticks around there for quite a while after each sip. Not really any discernible hop Presence, and that is quite OK with me. Has a crisp, also smooth, medium bodied, slightly to somewhat dry mouth feel. All of the flavors, along with a bit of dryness stick around on my palate for a while after each sip for the aftertaste. A very enjoyable beer here.
