Sampled the Dry Hopped version of Immortal on tap at Elysian Fields out of a standard pint glass.
The pour displayed an extremely cloudy golden color with a medium sized white lacey head.
Slight grapefruit and citrusy hop fragrance comes through.
The taste of modest lemon biscuit is still evident but malt is less prominent than in the original Immortal.
Smooth overall and quite drinkable but somehow the hop to malt ratio is not as perfect as the original. Still at 6.3% ABV this was a good alternative and it still is an easy IPA to drink.

Appearance This beauty shop poured a nice, darkish orange with just a tinge of brown and a huge, full, lathering head that covered the inside of my Snoqualmie Falls Wildcat glass.
Smell The smell of straight hops was sharp but not overdone. There was a nice, light malt balance to the nose.
Taste I thought this was a nice mix of sharp but casual pine and citrus hops with a sturdy malt backbone. The hops definitely dominate, even at that taste, but somehow just does keep from taking all the way over.
Mouthfeel I thought this was the ales strongpoint. This was incredibly smooth for an IPA. All the flavors blended well for this medium-bodied ale.
Drinkability This was a very drinkable IPA that went down without a fight. Its a solid, base IPA with lots of dry-hopping and maybe even a bit fuller all around.
Comments Big thanks to cvschaller for getting this in at Ks and then sending out the alert sirens to come and get it. After tasting a bit of skyhands growler I knew Id thoroughly enjoy my own 64 oz mug.
I had this on-tap back in 2003 over at the Barking Dog and was modestly impressed. This batch was far superior. The hops were bigger, the mouthfeel smoother, the malt backbone a bit more pronounced, and best of all I didnt pick up any of that light citrus tang that I remember so well from the previous keg.
All in all an excellent IPA, light enough to session yet big enough to satisfy that hoppy craze. Im taking this up several notches and re-writing the review since it almost seems like a brand new beer.
