Nice foamy head. Citrus hops dominate on the nose, notes of mango, pineapple, the standard stuff. Bit of fresh pine too. Sweeter aromas than expected. In the mouth, it earns the IBUs. Big, bitter citrus takes the front seat. Pineapple, orange, pine resin, floral vibes, and a bit of a malt sweetness. That malt isn’t enough to smooth out the bitterness on the finish, which I like in this instance. Nice, smooth finish, on the dry side.
I thought it was an imperial until I rechecked the description. Pretty good overall. Pretty typical, nothing game changing, but pretty good.

12oz canned with an enjoy-by date of Aprill 22nd. Brew pours out a deep golden color with a sticky slightly off-white head that laces well. Old school at its core with a strong bready malt sweetness and some piney and earthy citrus character. Notes of tropical fruitiness play well with the malty sweetness. The body comes off as creamy and also somewhat dry on the finish, with a robust but not overwhelming West Cost-y hop bitterness. There is some minor resiny, dank characteristics within the piney, earthy, and dank hop character.

I love Elysian Brewing, it's my next fav brewery to Lagunitas. Aroma on this was a bit disappointing I feel like if I am gonna pay $15 for a six pack these guys better add some aroma hops, I do love smelling my beer - just sayin. That being said there is some tropical notes and some maltiness on the nose. The taste is thick and creamy, there is some West Coast fruitiness for sure, but also some piney hop bite on the finish. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky, not sure if that's the alcohol or what but I wouldn't call this an easy drinking beer. For the style it is spot on so if you did big IPA's check this one out. For the record this is listed on BA as an Imperial IPA but Elysian just calls it an IPA. I'd love to do a side by side with Space Dust cuz my pessimistic side wonders if breweries just slap a different label on the same beer.

A hazy brew with a hazy appearance. Sweet smell and a very fruity flavor. Sweet and fruity. Too sweet and fruity for me. But 8.5 ABV so there's that. Redeeming value.

An interesting brew for sure, I need to try it on tap, I think I always end up with cans that are 6 weeks to 2 months old but I never know because they only use a best by date. I’ve had Stardust that was exceptional when fresh but muddled and mediocre when not, and Elysian has a ton of beer all over on shelves that are 2-3 months old. They really need a packaging date. So, while this brew might be great, it’s ok with 6+weeks, I’ll look for something else for my $15 with tax sixer, hope they get a canning date instead

a tasty beer that hides its alcohol strength extremely well, but one that was just a week or two away from its expiration date on the can, and that already tasted a bit faded and past its optimal moment. that said, still lots of fruitiness to the hops, nice balance from a fuller, earthy grain build, and one that really could sneak up on you if you werent careful, this drinks like a normal strength ipa to me. the pour is nice, super lively with a tall frothy tan head with irregular peaks that last the whole drink. aroma is orchard fruit and floral honey to me, with a little spike of pithy bitterness, and the flavor agrees, peach and papaya and mango notes for sure, trace oxidation unfortunately, a splash of orange and grapefruit as the bitterness ramps up later on, and nice round malt flavors giving this some good balance for a beer as big as it is. pretty dry at the end and the higher carbonation keeps it on the light side as well. still solid at this point, these guys always do the hoppy stuff well, but i would have liked to try this when it was brand new, im sure it was even better then...

This surprised me on a couple occasions. Complex with a malty presence, pronounced peach and other stone fruit, but bitter to last awhile. Mine has aged on the store shelves a bit long so I’ll update as needed when I try a fresher one.

A really good, strong IPA that just isn’t a good fit for my palette. Would I drink it again? Of course. Would I spend $14 on a six pack? Never.

BB 04/22/19.....so a month+ to go.
Clear apricot pour. Great creamy white head, Lots of bubble patch lacing.
Taste is crisp, aftertaste is dry. Not nearly as much hop flavor profile as Space Dust.
Aroma is bready, a bit muted.
8.5% abv screams DIPA, not IPA.
I got this at a bargian sale price, but at the $13-14/ 6pk price point, there are more hop-forward IPAs I'd choose.
eg. Sticky Hands, Vortex, or Lush.
Two of these, hand over the keys.

Exceptional IPA. Pours a hazy amber/orange with a frothy head. Hoppiness is immediately offset by fruitiness. Multiple fruits are present. The finish is much hoppier and quite a bit of citrus comes through here. This beer is the best beer you could ever pair with a pineapple and ham pizza.
