Hazy, orange, honey color with a light but present head. Light nose that I didn't pause to absorb. I went straight for the taste and was initially surprised by the lighter body/mouth feel. Description on the bottle boasts notes of pine and honey dew, the later standing out more to me, which lends to the lighter mourh feel, almost, but not quite crisp. The recipe of odd-ball hops is perhaps the crowning achievement here, though none stand out. Hop bitterness really shows up in the after-taste, though they don't linger and they certainly aren't overpowering. It's a tasty brew that isn't too anything, other than maybe honey dewey, which is rare, and not too bad, that coming from a critic who typically hates fruit accents in beer. Valid. Tastey. Unique. Give it a go.

Pours a hazy, deep Orange with a 1 - finger white head. Does leave some lacing.
Smell of candied citrus hops and malt. Melon and spice.
Taste follows the nose with some pine resin. Some kind of funky taste that brings in haispray and metallic. Nodate, maybe old. Bad.

Hazy pinkish gold with two fingers of off white head. Rings and splotches of lace.
Smell is Honeydew and pine.
Taste is mostly pine with a bit of malt support.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation level. The finish is dry and bitter.
Overall big and bitter. A bit of fruit eases in later. Must love hops.

22oz bottle. I see serious sediment floating in the bottom, so I've poured carefully into my can glass, which yields the brew pale golden and only slightly hazy. Mild grassy aroma. Flavor is alpha-forward and chalky, though not unbearably so. Flavors are of pine, sap, and spruce. Tannin? This beer succeeds as a big oldschool IPA brewed with some newer hop varieties. But the IPA game has moved on and this beer doesn't play with the new kids. Cute label though. It's self-recursive, with troll holding a bottle of Kappa with his picture, and the same troll's image in the picture on the label in the picture...

I don't see a bottle date anywhere.

Appearance: The body is a medium-light gold with moderate haze. The beer has a short white creamy textured head that leaves a thick ring around the edge of the glass.

Aroma: There is a nice strong aroma of pine along with some mango.

Taste: It has a nice strong mango-like hop flavor with a bit of lemon at the back end. All of this is laid on a blanket of pine flavor. There is a pleasant grain flavor as well. After a while there was a bit of vegital character to the beer but it gets knocked out fairly quickly by that pine flavor, which largely dominates the beer.

Mouthfeel: The beer has a nice strong bitterness to it. The body feels slightly coarse or raspy which suits the character of the beer overall.

Overall: The beer doesn't feel quite as honed as other Elysian beers but it is still a good beer that . It will certainly "scratch the itch" for hop flavor and strong bitterness. I would recommend giving it a shot if you are looking for a strong, bitter, piney IPA. I enjoyed it as a whole.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Muddy orange golden pour, small creamy head. Musty hop aroma, some citrus, some malt. Taste too favors the Idaho7 hops, earthy and dank. Creamy too. Nice.

Appearance is inviting, with golden amber brew topped by plenty of foam in the Bitburger glass. Smooth mouthfeel. Aromatic with grapefruit plus orange. Just a slight malty sweetness, but it tastes even a little rich.

Tasty fruit flavor like ripe honeydew melon with a squeeze of lemon. There's a vegetable note too, a bit of avocado and black tea. Bitterness is on the lower side of the IPA spectrum, but it's undeniably hoppy. Some astringency in the aftertaste. Featured hop is said to be Idaho 7, plus Eureka, Denali, and Galaxy. Overall it is a pleasant and drinkable IPA from your friends at AB-Inbev. From the 22 oz bottle purchased
