Look: Almost clear burnt orange in color with a nice head that pillows up and leaves good lacing on the glass
Aroma: Guava, candied orange, cantaloupe melon, pineapple, and some graham cracker maltiness that my nose is trying to tell me comes across as pumpkin pie [crust]
Taste: Follows the nose well but much more pronounced. I’ve neve had a beer with this strong of a guava note that didn’t have guava fruit in it and both the melon and graham cracker notes are much more subdued to me here as well. Strong pineapple/orange/guava notes on the finish and no discernable bite at all. I did not get much fresh hop character in either the aroma or here on the taste as well.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, a little chewy, medium carbonation, and zero to minimal dryness detected on the finish
Overall: I dig it, though wouldn’t be able to tell this had any fresh/wet hops in it. A very unique but still tasty beer and I’ve never had anything with BRU-1 hops in it so that made it a fun experience as everything about it was a total pineapple/orange/guava bomb to me. It was worth the single I got to try a new-to-me hop varietal that was unique in its flavor/aroma profile
