On draught, served in a shaker pint, Erik the Red is a hazy auburn with a small, creamy off-white head that leaves creamy lace.
Smell is grainy and bland, with some light citrus hops.
Taste is also grainy, bitter, with very little malt character. I thought it was going to be an amber, but it's just a rather boring pale ale.
Mouthfeel is dry and crisp, with a medium light body.
Drinkability is okay, it's inoffensive but very generic.
