on tap @ Elysian Pumpkin Beer Festival 2010. this was 2009 8472, fermented on the yeast from Mr. Yuck, Elysian's other sour pumpkin. Pale, munich, wheat, oats, rye, and corn w/ pumpkin in the mash and kettle.
brown, cloudy, and yeasty. light carbonation..
smells of pumpkin and sour brett. slightly funky, but not overpowering the pumpkin.
flavor is incredible, the pumpkin and brett make for a delightful combination. very complex beer from the various grains used, medium bodied and a sour yet creamy finish.
it was my favorite beer last year, when i didn't like sours, but couldn't stop going back for more of this one. i trace my fascination with the sours back to this point one year ago. definitely my favorite beer again this year. not sure if last year's was the 08 or if this was a one time only brew, but it is fantastic.
