Tried Slight Return at the original Elysian Brewing location on draft out of a glass pint. The pour was clear as day straw colored yellow with little to no head but decent lacing for what head there was.

Buttermilk biscuit nose with a hint of honey.

Initial flavor is light with a semi smooth malt and a tart crisp finish that lingers a bit on the palate.

A watered down brew at 3.1% ABV it is very drinkable but the taste is watered down as well. I wouldn't really refer to this as a Pale Ale based on the look and especially the taste but if you're looking for a light session beer this could do the trick.

What this beer truly is? Something marvelous and distinctive. Another step by another brewery towards the creation of this new and distinctly American style. The American Mild. Pallid, flaccid, dark gold with good head. Sparkly citrusy and piney hops, some grapefruit and lemon. No malt contribution, blasted away by the yeast. The flavor is the same, feel is a bit watery like any beer that finishes with a terminal gravity around the same as water. So it is written, so it shall pass. Delicious, and undoubtedly nutritious. Probably second runnings from their double IPA the Hubris, which was also on tap.
