Mulligatawny Moon is a golden pumpkin ale shimmering with Indian spice. Cumin, cayenne, coriander, black pepper, turmeric and ginger are unlocked and incorporated in the kettle with a simple malt bill of pale, Munich, and Cara-hell and a modest 24 IBU imparted by New Zealand Pacific Gem hops.

I believe this was their joke beer. Disgusting. The nose was akin to a basketball player's taint after weeks of not showering. The taste itself was not as bad as the smell, but the "odor's" first impression created a near gag reflex rendering any kind of salvageable flavors unenjoyable.

First had: on tap at City Tap House, Philly, PA

Cloudy golden-yellow pour, with a small white head that receded to a ringlet, leaving a few dabs of spotty lacing on the glass. The nose was light and distant, notes of musty funk and peppery spice. This was listed as a "curry pumpkin" beer, though I didn't really get too much pumpkin out of it. Bright, fresh, taste, refreshing like a sip of clean, cool spring water, notes of cumin and freshly ground peppercorns, , pale malts, leafy hops, white grapes, and a mild vegetal presence, that I wouldn't have guessed to be pumpkin unless the tap list told me (though this is Elysian we're talking about). Light-medium body and very easily drinkable. Very nice overall.
